Dr. Higginbottom was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Annual Dallas County Dental Society Dinner due to his 44-year commitment to the dental field. After attending the University of Oklahoma, Dr. Higginbottom earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry upon graduating with honors in 1971. Upon graduation, Dr. Higginbottom was awarded the silver medal for Academic and Clinical Excellence. Through his various academic and professional achievements, Dr. Higginbottom now holds a faculty position of Associate Clinical Professor in the Departments of Oral Surgery and Prosthodontics as a prosthodontist in Dallas. In addition, he commits weekly to aid dental residents in Baylor’s Clinic. In addition, he also holds a position at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
With several published articles pertaining to dental literature, Dr. Higginbottom often lectures on a national and international level. In addition to his passion for the dental field, Dr. Higginbottom is very family-focused and oriented, which carries over into the care he provides his patients.
Dr. Derksen joined Dr. Higginbottom’s practice three years ago to provide complete comprehensive care to the Dallas area. Through his extensive dental training and accomplishments at Dallas Esthetics, Dr. Derksen was awarded the New Dentist of the Year Award at the Annual Dallas County Dental Society Dinner.
As a graduate of the Southern Methodist University, where Dr. Derksen received his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, he went on to graduate from Boston University’s School of Dental Medicine. His passion for dentistry led him to earn a Master’s in Science and Certificate in Prosthodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry. Now, as a board certified Prosthodontist since 2014, he combines his extensive training and qualifications with Dr. Higginbottom’s to offer elite dental services.
